Modern Bathroom Design Trends: Wet Rooms
The European Wet Room is hot on my radar as I explore the latest bathroom trends for an upcoming remodel. Who doesn’t deserve a little pretty floor to ceiling tiled wash room carved out in their master bath? Put all the wet splashy things in one protected glass enclosure! Brilliant!
Having a beautiful freestanding modern bath tub is kind of a sign in my eyes that you've made it and that you're basically an adult now. I mean, I don't even like baths because by the time its filled, I've lost interest and if I do make it to the point of entry, I can only sit still for ten minutes because I get too hot and start thinking about all that other things I should be doing or I’m skeeved about sitting in a vat of my own filth. Oooooor the husband, child, dog, or all three, come in and disrupt any moment of silence I may have carved out for myself. This doesn't mean that I don't absolutely love the look of a bodacious tub in the overall design of a bathroom. Styled with a little wooden stool nestled right up next to it, maybe a plant perched over it and a basket of fresh rolled towels within reach. That's luxury baby!
I’m feeling the walk in mega shower and tub combo, for many reasons. Its sleek, smart and modern so therefore expensive looking, perfect for a family time bathe sesh, which with little one’s, I’m into. It’s a departure from the norm, a look outside of the box, a regal set up not everyone can have and it makes bath time, luxe spa time, every day!
I love the sophistication of a big ol’ soaker tub but I feel like a lot of times he gets neglected on the day to day. This is particularly sad because he costs a pretty penny and is the piece de resistance in the master bathroom. How could we neglect him? The wet room solves this by combining the shower and tub so no one feels left out and everyone gets some splash time.
For whatever your bathing preference, check out these beautiful wet room situations and then tell me you don’t want to jump on in there. I dare you!
Floor to ceiling tile, a big juicy tub that you can pop in and out of, multiple shower heads, all enclosed by a half wall of glass to contain the splash makes for some seriously stylish sudsing!
Free standing tub or built in, I can’t decide what I like more. So, so pretty!
Enclose for steam or add a Japanese soaking tub and slatted wood benches to this mix and LITERALLY I will never leave my house.
There are a few variations of this trend, much to my pleasant surprise, and just when I think I’ve nailed down a design plan, Pinterest goes and throws me for a inspirational loop. Its not all about the tub and the glass enclosure here, its equally about the tile and the fixtures that set them apart from the rest. There is a wet room design out there for everyone looking to add some special desgin-ey style to your ho hum master bath.
